With three young children, a husband, and her running shoes in tow (she runs five miles a day), Abbie directs HDR’s Central Region healthcare business development efforts. Her passion at work is community health, which led her to launching HDR’s Community Health Initiative in 2011, a program focused on building healthier communities through facility design. She’s also involved with HDR’s Translational Health Science Initiative and the firm’s new innovation consulting group, in addition to leading numerous successful project pursuits at HDR, including the new Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Research Hospital and the Focal Point Community Campus.
As a loud and proud Chicagoan, Abbie partakes in all the typical Chicago shenanigans—screaming wildly at Bears’ games, squeezing her brood onto the beach for the Air and Water Show, and occasionally eating a Chicago Hot Dog, no ketchup please. She truly believes that Chicago is one of the architectural gems of the U.S., and is proud to play a part in shaping the future of architecture and healthcare delivery in the region.
