A native of Montana, Gene arrived in New Jersey in 1986 after earning a BArch from Montana State University, going on to claim a MArch from the University of Pennsylvania. He’s a self-described “generalist,” with experience as a project architect and project designer on a wide range of project types.
As an architect, Gene’s passion is to enrich the human experience by creating places that are highly functional, sensitively detailed, and evoke a powerful sense of meaning. He looks to architects such as Alvar Aalto, Louis Kahn and Rafael Moneo as sources of inspiration, and also draws upon his life experience in Montana and his Mexican heritage (a gift from his mother).
Gene and his wife, Karen, live in Mercerville, NJ, and have one daughter, Erika, who is a Musical Theater Major at DeSales University.
