Roger is an architect who considers himself to be a “designer of business.” A graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s School of Architecture, he started his career at HDR as a designer, but now thrives on taking business areas that are emerging and shaping them into strong, vibrant parts of HDR’s practice. He co-created HDR’s first Justice Consulting practice, led and developed two of HDR Architecture’s three business groups (S+T and Civic), managed two major offices (Alexandria and Los Altos), and conceived of and led two of the largest acquisitions in the history of the company (ER and CUH2A). He now leads HDR’s Global Development practice, with a goal of making HDR’s international practice over 1/3 of the firm’s revenues.
Roger has lived and worked in the HDR Dallas, Alexandria, Omaha, and San Francisco offices over his 28 years with the company, and is proud to be one of the forty original investors in the HDR employee buyout of 1996. He recently remarried and enjoys time with his wife, four children, and three dogs. He enjoys the outdoors, and his lifelong goal has been to climb all of Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks; he only has seven remaining.
