Director of Education, Science and Tech | San Francisco, CA, USA

Steve is attracted to things that have a timeless quality—an Alvar Aalto stool, a Walter Teague camera, an Armani suit, a Modigliani painting, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Olmsted’s Central Park in NYC. He believes great design to have a certain unpretentious, simple, direct, functional appeal that is instantly comfortable to the viewer, the user, the occupant. Born in Michigan, he eventually took Route 66 west and settled in San Francisco, where he lives with his wife, two children, two dogs and a cat, and enjoys cycling around the Bay Area.
